Game 5 for the OKC Thunder and Houston Rockets will take place Saturday, August 29 at 5:30 p.m. CT.

The NBA announced a revised playoff schedule at least for this weekend after players boycotted all three games on Wednesday, August 26th. This action was followed by meetings and after three days of postponed play teams including the OKC Thunder will resume action this weekend.

Game 5 for the OKC Thunder will be played on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. EST (5:30 CT). The game will be in the Field House arena and airing on TNT. Chris Paul and company will play Game 5 with Russell Westbrook expected to make his series debut.

The other games on the itinerary tomorrow are the Milwaukee Bucks versus the Orlando Magic at 3:30 p.m. EST in the AdventHealth Center and airing on ESPN. The final game of the night features the Los Angeles Lakers versus the Portland Trail Blazers at 9:00 p.m. EST in the AdventHealth Center also airing on TNT.

The Bucks and Lakers can close out their series as they lead three games to one while the OKC Thunder and Houston Rockets are knotted at two games apiece.

NBA revised weekend schedule, OKC Thunder play Saturday

Sunday features a trio of games on the itinerary with the first series in the second round opening the day as the Toronto Raptors host the Boston Celtics at 1:00 p.m. in the Field House airing on ESPN. It is odd that the league would jump ahead to starting that series while no other second-round series is even set yet.

Game two on the schedule features the LA Clippers versus the Dallas Mavericks at 3:30 p.m. in the AdventHealth Center also on ESPN.

The closing match Sunday features the Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets at 8:30 p.m. in the AdventHealth Center airing on TNT.

Both the Clippers and Jazz lead their series three games to two and can clinch a berth to the second round with a win or the Mavericks and Nuggets can force a Game 7 if they win.

These are the only games listed on the NBA official site so far. Presumably, all the games will be filled in at some point today.

It’s expected the format will take on the same pattern with teams playing every other day.

That would equate to Game 6 for the OKC Thunder occuring on Monday, August 31st and Game 7 if necessary on Wednesday, September 2nd.
