Highlights
Mike Muscala had many highlights this season. The first was in the game against the Golden State Warriors in November last year. Not only was it a win for the OKC Thunder, but it was also when Muscala got his shot back.
In just over 15 minutes, Muscala went 3-of-5 for nine points. He had four rebounds and two assists, going plus 22 on the game. This gave him the confidence to go 4-of-9 the next night to score 12 points against the Milwaukee Bucks. He also had three rebounds and three assists.
However, the ultimate highlight for Muscala did not happen until the last week of the season, after the COVID-19 hiatus, inside the NBA bubble. In the loss to the Denver Nuggets, during the second game back Muscala suffered a concussion.
He missed the next two games due to the NBA’s concussion protocol. Then OKC Thunder fans received the news that both Noel and Adams were going to be out against the Washington Wizards. Fortunately, Muscala was cleared to play.
He played almost 28 minutes, going 4-of-8 from deep, collecting an impressive 14 points and three rebounds, helping the OKC Thunder to a much-needed win. This story epitomizes the mentality which the Thunder had all season. Play for each other.
