Highlights

Despite his poor season, Burton still had a number of highlights. Just after the locker room incident and subsequent suspension, the Thunder recalled Burton prior to the Los Angles Lakers back to back games.

LeBron James was playing really well before Burton was switched out to guard him in the final quarter. The result was impressive. James was not able to have the same impact on the game and the Thunder only lost by five points.

The next highlight was during the 26 point loss to the Indiana Pacers. Coach Donovan cleared the benches and gave Burton some extended minutes. Burton used that time to collect 13 points and three rebounds. He shot the ball efficiently going 5-of-12 from the floor and 3-of-6 from deep.

The other highlight that was impressive for Burton was the nine-point effort he produced in the game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Burton was plus 11 on the night in a 13 point win. He also had three rebounds and was an efficient  4-of-6 from the floor.

What was so impressive about this was that the Thunder were so short-handed on the night. Terrance Ferguson, Abdel Nader, and Danilo Gallinari were all out but they were able to conjure a victory thanks to the efforts of Burton amongst others.
