Highlights

For me, the highlight of the season watching Schroder was the level of maturity he developed within his game. As mentioned earlier he went from being me-first to team orientated. He still blew past defenders in isolation but that helped the team more than his early-season antics.

A big part of the growth can be attributed to learning from one of the all-time greats in Paul. However, not all of the credit deserves to go to Paul. Schroder listened to his coaching staff and showed a developing maturity in his game.

The second highlight was non-basketball related. Schroder left the NBA bubble for the birth of his second child. While it would have been amazing for the Thunder to have had him for the whole bubble, Schroder showed that he has his priorities straight. Family always comes first.

The third highlight, which will go down as one of the best last-second plays in Thunder history was in the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Karl-Anthony Towns tried to intentionally miss the free throw and sunk it.

Steven Adams took the ball so that he could inbound it. He looked up and saw Schroder making the heads up play of using his speed to outrun the opposition to the other end of the court. He only time to catch the ball and put it up.

Adams made the perfect length of the floor pass and Schroder flipped it up for the layup to tie the game. The Thunder would then go on to take the game in overtime. This showed a knowledge of the game situation and backing himself to make the play. Schroder was clutch all season though.
