OKC Thunder draft prospect profile: James Wiseman
A short-lived collegiate run with Memphis earmarks James Wiseman as the most unpredictable prospect yet he still is out of the OKC Thunder range.
Draft prospect James Wiseman may be the greatest unknown in this 2020 NBA Draft. He played a mere three games with Penny Hardaway’s Memphis Tigers before pulling the plug. Despite the lack of film he’s projected to be a top draft pick and well out of the OKC Thunder range since they don’t select until the 25th pick.
That said, there are ample upcoming draft picks and tradeable assets on the Thunder if Sam Presti wanted to make a move.
Leading up to the draft it feels like some teams may be playing coy to ensure Wiseman is open to them. The Warriors have had numerous rumors linked to them and each one seems to point more to the Dubs wanting to make sure Wiseman remains on the board for their second pick.
James Wiseman draft prospect preview:
Although Wiseman only had those three games he was very impressive in that trio of outings. What fans didn’t get to witness is his full toolbox on either side of the court but averaging a double-double with three blocks had people sitting up and taking notice.

Current Ranking:
No doubt his lack of appearances and the inability for a typical Draft Combine has some teams and pundits questioning where he should land on the board. While many big boards have him being selecting with a top-three pick others aren’t as certain the hype is warranted placing him near the end of the lottery picks.
