An injury and off-year sent Cole Anthony plummeting down draft boards which could benefit the OKC Thunder if they elect to take advantage.

Guard Cole Anthony is the son of former player and current NBA TV analyst Greg. Analysts vary in their placement of the North Carolina guard with some placing him in the lottery and others much later in the first round. That means when the OKC Thunder makes their first-round selection with the 25th pick he may still be available.

At the start of the 2019-20 NCAA season, Anthony was a top-five pick on virtually every big board. A terrible collegiate season witnessed his free fall down draft boards. Perhaps no other prospect was hurt as much by the coronavirus pandemic than Anthony who had no opportunity to showcase a rebound effort in the latter part of the season or during March Madness since both were canceled.

As noted, Anthony vacillates on the boards with half the mock drafts predicting he’ll be selected in the latter portion of the lottery and the other half have him going closer to the 20th pick.
