International big man Aleksej Pokusevski has ranking analysts all over the map and there are rumors he has a guarantee from the OKC Thunder.

As is typical with young international bigs the pundits are all over the map when it comes to ranking Aleksej Pokusevski. The main analysts have a range of 30 spots for the young big. But, there are rumors the Spurs are interested in him and another that says the OKC Thunder have made him a promise.

A genuine 7 footer and then some he is the type of player teams will risk a late first-round selection for. If he turns out to be the next Pascal Siakam (selected 27th) or develops into a player like Kristaps Porzingis then it was worth the risk.

No doubt over the next seven seasons Thunder Nation will experience a few of those types of picks. For now, let’s dive in and determine why Sam Presti may have made that promise.

Note: All rankings are pulled from Big Board placement as they reflect where the authors value the talent of the prospect. Couple that reality with the fact this draft class is an unusual group with copious guards and differences of opinions on the talent level.
