After improving in almost every aspect of his game, TI takes a looks at three season goals for Hamidou Diallo in 2020-21.

It is amazing to think that Hamidou Diallo came to the OKC Thunder in exchange for cash and a 2019 second-round pick. Diallo was drafted by the Brooklyn Nets as the 45th pick in the 2019 draft. Two weeks later they had traded him to the Charlotte Hornets.

That same day the Hornets traded Diallo to the Thunder. When Diallo came to OKC, he was athletic, enthusiastic, and energetic. This is what you want in a rookie who no one expects to make the team. However, Diallo also had something money can’t buy, a great work ethic.

In his rookie season, Diallo only played 51 games. He averaged 3.7 points and 1.9 rebounds in 10.3 minutes. His shooting was not the best, going 45.5 percent from the floor, 16.7 percent from deep, and 61.0 percent from the line.

Hamidou Diallo developed in his second season for the OKC Thunder

This season Diallo took a leap. His minutes went up to 19.5 per game which is almost double that of his rookie year. His other averages went up too, going at 6.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and 0.8 steals per game.

His field goal percentage was one of the few numbers that did not go up in his second year, only shooting the ball at 44.6 percent which is not a bad drop. His free throw shooting also slightly declined, going from 61.0 percent to 60.3 percent.

However, Diallo obviously worked hard on his shooting in the offseason. His 3-point shooting went from being almost embarrassing to a semi-respectable 28.1 percent. This is impressive since he shot the ball from deep 0.5 times per game in his rookie year and 1.2 attempts per game in his sophomore season.

To be honest, Diallo is in his element when he is able to elevate and dunk the ball. He was the 2019 NBA slam dunk champion after all. However, with all this in mind, it is time to look at the three goals for Hamido Diallo in the 2020-21 season.
