With the release of the NBA’s new ‘City Edition’ jerseys, Bleacher Report went on to rank each one from worst to first. In regard to the OKC Thunder, they were absolutely panned.

The OKC Thunder come into the 2020-21 season still with many needs that must be addressed and reletively low expectations, as many envision they will be in full “tank” mode and, in turn, could be one of the worst teams in the NBA.

Their expected bad play may mesh quite well with their newest ‘City Edition’ jerseys, as Bleacher Report recently deemed their newest threads as one of the worst from this year’s collection.

Actually, let me rephrase this — B/R actually dubbed them THE worst jerseys of them all.

Since Nike took over as the league’s designers in 2017, teams have been churning out a City Edition design for an organization’s uniform every year, which incorporates some kind of element of a team’s city, community, franchise history or something else of that nature.

In a recently published article by Sean Highkin, the sports media outlet ranked each team’s City Edition jersey heading into the season from worst to first and, as we have already mentioned, the Thunder placed dead last on this list, citing the team’s color scheme as a massive influence on why they placed so low.

"The Thunder have had and continue to have the worst color scheme in the NBA. The first good jersey they’ve produced since moving from Seattle to Oklahoma City in 2008 was last year’s city edition, a collaboration with the local Cherokee tribe. They would have done well to stick with that theme, maybe with a different color scheme to change it up. These new ones are a mess."

Ultimately, it is the talent that makes a team and not the clothing in which they wear. That said, watching a bad squad play whilst donning hard to look at jerseys will make viewing OKC Thunder games this year reletively unbearable when they roll out their City Editions.
