Potential landing spot for George Hill No. 3) Philadelphia 76ers

Similar to our first potential landing spot for George Hill, the idea of the Philadelphia 76ers being a destination was brought forth by a piece written by Bleacher Report. In the article, writer Greg Swartz proposed that Hill could be had in exchange for Shake Milton, Furkan Korkmaz, and Mike Scott heading to the OKC Thunder.

While the piece did go on to say that this deal wouldn’t be landing them any draft assets — something that, of course, has become a staple of OKC’s 2020 offseason –, but could still help them moving forward and aid in their future endeavors nonetheless:

"The Thunder wouldn’t get more picks here, but Milton is a nice young guard who could start alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in OKC’s backcourt. The 24-year-old averaged 9.4 points and shot 43.0 percent from three during his sophomore season."

Frankly, a move such as this is something we at TI hope the Thunder would consider if the opportunity ever arose.

As for why Hill in Philly makes sense, it would bring aboard a floor spacer — something the team desperately needs — who just shot a league-leading 46 percent from deep in 2019-20, add a secondary ball-handler to the rotation to allow Ben Simmons to play more off-ball, and would instill a strong veteran presence to this talented yet seemingly troubled roster.

Next. 3 team needs that still must be addressed. dark
