After the dust settled on pre and post-draft trades, George Hill found himself a member of the OKC Thunder. Here are three goals for the 2020-21 season.

When the 2019-20 season ended, George Hill would have thought of himself as a valuable member of the Milwaukee Bucks. Now that the 2020-21 season is about to start he is an extremely important member of the OKC Thunder.

Hill was tremendous last year. He performed his role well by spacing the floor so that Giannis Antetokounmpo could go to work. In fact, Hill was so good that he led the NBA in 3-point percent, shooting the long ball at 46.0 percent.

Hill was the hallmark of efficiency last season, going at 51.6 percent from the floor also. He only just missed out on the exclusive 50/40/90 club due to his free throws, which he shot at a solid 84.2 percent. Good but not good enough.

The OKC Thunder were fortunate to get George Hill

Hill was part of the Steven Adams trade which involved four teams. The Pelicans already gave up Zylan Cheatham, Joshua Gray, Darius Miller, Kenrich Williams, and two future second-round picks. That is a huge haul for a $27 million Adams contract which was shed as part of a rebuild.

However, Sam Presti was able to leverage Hill as part of the deal and that made it almost worth it, given how most of us feel about Adams. Hill is a no-nonsense veteran who plays basketball very well. I remember in the 2016-17 season, when Hill and Gordon Hayward hit the court together the Utah Jazz were rarely beaten.

With all this in mind, let’s look at three goals for George Hill in the 2020-21 season.
