Player the OKC Thunder could target No. 2) Romeo Langford

Next up, we have Romeo Langford, the 14th overall pick by the Boston Celtics in the 2019 NBA Draft.

A rookie season ravaged by injuries, the Indiana University star comes into year two with many question marks and no semblance of a permanent role within the C’s rotation.

Frankly, the idea of the OKC Thunder pursuing the likes of Langford was originally created by Bleacher Report writer Zach Buckley, who proposed a trade between the two franchises in which Boston would receive George Hill and Oklahoma City would receive the second-year wing and veteran forward Semi Ojeleye:

"Romeo Langford, the 14th pick in 2019, might be on the high end of what the Thunder can realistically target. His rookie year was ravaged by injury, but he has long intrigued scouts with his NBA build, three-level scoring and defensive tools. He could play his way into a future starting spot alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and maybe Semi Ojeleye could even attain keeper status"

In response to this sort of trade, we stated that, should the opportunity arise, Sam Presti should jump at the opportunity, citing that Langford would NOT impact what the Thunder are trying to do in attaining a high selection come the 2021 NBA Draft, as he still needs time to develop, but the he could be seen as a quality long-term prospect that the franchise can groom to be a starter alongside SGA moving forward.
