Season goal for Al Horford with the OKC Thunder No. 2) Regain his league standing

As I stated earlier, Horford is a true professional. While he was being blamed for the issues in Philadelphia, you barely heard from the man himself.

That said, as the old saying goes, if you sling enough mud, some of it sticks.

He was signed to a four-year, $109 million deal of which the last season is only partially guaranteed. If the final year of his contract is guaranteed, he is due to earn $26.5 million.

If it is not, then he is only due $14.5 million.

The problem is that he signed this deal as a 33-year-old and then had a down season.

The natural extension of this is that he is starting to show his age. Again, I hearken back to last season where Paul had a redemption song type of season with the OKC Thunder because he could ball out his way.

Horford can learn a lot from this.

Make no mistake about this, the veteran big is still a very good basketball player.

He is a lock to start at the center position for Oklahoma City this season and he will be allowed to play his game. This is how he is going to be able to show the rest of the league that he is not done.

He will show that he is still a force in the NBA and the best thing is that Thunder Nation gets to see it next season.
