Trevor Ariza is about to start his 17th season, this time suiting up for the OKC Thunder. Let’s have a look at three goals for his 2020-21 season.

During this offseason, Trevor Ariza became the most traded player in NBA when the Blazers traded him to the Rockets who sent him to the Pistons. Then the OKC Thunder traded for him meaning Ariza has been traded ten times in his career (and three times in six days this offseason). The previous record was eight times held by Chris Gatling and Dale Ellis.

If you play 16 years in the NBA then there is a good chance you will be traded multiple times but he has been traded four times in 2020 alone. It would be easy to say that one of his goals would be not to be traded but Ariza probably does not want to play for a tanking team at this stage of his career.

Ariza has made quite a good career for a player taken with the 43rd pick of the 2004 draft. He has done this by having the ability to play multiple positions and defending at a high level. He has not reported to camp as he has been dealing with a personal issue for months but is expected to join as soon as he possibly can.

Where Trevor Ariza will help the OKC Thunder

Ariza is a solid 3-and-D player. For his career, Ariza is a 35.2 percent 3-point shooter which is impressive considering that he has taken 4.1 attempts per game. He shot the 3-ball at 40.0 percent for the Portland Trail Blazers last season so he is still a viable option in the league.

It is unlikely that he will shoot at that percentage for the OKC Thunder as he was getting wide-open looks thanks to the attention opposition teams needed to give Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. With all of this in mind, let’s take a look at three goals for Trevor Ariza in 2020-21.
