Season goal for Frank Jackson No. 2) Shoot the 3-ball at 35 percent.

During his first two seasons with the Pelicans, Jackson was a solid scorer but struggled a bit from beyond the arc. He shot the ball at 31.4 percent on 2.8 shot attempts in his rookie year which is passable but not good enough for a guard.

Last year he improved slightly, shooting 32.6 percent on 2.4 shot attempts per game. While this may not appear to be much, he took more of the right shots, despite taking fewer attempts. This shows growth as a shooter and as a basketball player.

This season Jackson needs to shoot the 3-ball over 35 percent and also, due to the nature of the team, take more shots from deep. His ability to hit the 3-ball will open up the court for his other less experienced teammates which is going to be crucial for their development.

If he can do this, then Jackson is going to be a solid contributor on this team for years to come. Standing 6’3″, Jackson has the potential to play both point guard and shooting guard which will give coach Mark Daigneault plenty of scope for different rotations in the upcoming season.
