OKC Thunder hang on for win, Bazely breaks out in 3 takeaways

Maledon is the real deal for the OKC Thunder
Maledon has become an OKC Thunder fan-favorite, fairly quickly.
It began in the preseason when Maledon dropped 20 points on the San Antonio Spurs in his OKC Thunder debut. Since then, his status as a fan-favorite has only grown.
There are several reasons for that but one of the biggest is because of how smoothly he operates with the ball in his hands and how electrifying he can be when driving to the bucket.
Against the Magic, Maledon scored 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting in 19 minutes. It was the first time during the regular season that Maledon broke double-digit scoring, but it certainly won’t be the last.
Maledon simply looks like he belongs on an NBA court.
While just a rookie, he displays a lot of the same skill and IQ of a veteran. He glides around the court waiting for an opportunity to strike. His game isn’t riddled with bad decision making which can often be the case with rookie players.
If he sees an opening, he takes it.

Maledon is another name on an already long list of potential stars for the OKC Thunder.
The rookie has already shown an ability to make plays, whether it be driving, spotting up at the 3-point line or dishing the ball to an open teammate.
With time and experience, the sky is the limit for Maledon and the rest of this OKC Thunder team.
The Thunder continue their road trip with a stop in Miami on Monday, Jan. 6.
The Thunder’s game with the Heat is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 p.m. EST or 6:30 p.m. Central Time.
