OKC Thunder: 2 multi-team James Harden trades with Boston & Portland

James Harden wants out of Houston, and has recently listed Boston and Portland as preferred landing spots. The OKC Thunder should try to get involved in any deal.
The OKC Thunder are a team looking to the future. Coming into the year, it was a widely accepted idea that the team was embarking on a full-fledged tank job, with their sights set on the NBA Draft.
Due to his relentless wheeling and dealing over the past couple of offseasons, Sam Presti has managed to nab Oklahoma City a potential total of 18 first-round picks, and a bevy of other second-rounders.
They are in such a good position, in fact, that there are some who believe that the Thunder could still properly rebuild for the future while also competing in the now.
Whatever road they inevitably choose to take, based on speculation and the rumor mill, it is assumed that the team’s front office isn’t done making moves this season.
Be it to strengthen their core for this year or better the days of tomorrow, Presti could find himself jumping back into the trade conversations at some point in the near future.
If it were up to us at Thunderous Intentions, OKC should try to make their way into any conversations that will be including the likes of disgruntled superstar James Harden heading out of Houston.
No, we are not insinuating that the Thunder should try and bring the guard back. However, any trade that involves him will likely require a third-team to make the money work, and OKC should certainly be interested in serving in such a role, as it could perhaps land them even more draft capital or even a young player that they could develop for the future.
We’ve already discussed trade packages the Thunder could be a part of that involves Harden heading to both the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers. However, recently, the All-Star added two more teams to his preferred destination wishlist in the Boston Celtics and Portland Trail Blazers.
