Best OKC Thunder reserve performance:

A. . PF/C. Oklahoma City Thunder. MIKE MUSCALA

When Sam Presti took a plane to camp out and ensure he was the first voice in Mike Muscala’s ear in free agency two offseasons ago the move baffled me.

His subsequent slow start last season only served to add more fuel to my already stoked fire. In hindsight, it’s clear why the Thunder magician made the move. At the time his thinking was to add a big who could space the floor and be a contributor who could provide supplementary help for Russell Westbrook and Paul George.

Yet, his contribution to this young ‘resiliency’ era team makes even greater sense. Muscala is a quality perimeter shooter but more importantly, he’s a glue guy with the type of character the youngsters on this team will learn invaluable lessons from.

And hey, when that shot is falling like it was tonight his stroke is smooth as butter and one of the prettiest in the association.

In a little over a season, Moose has become a personal favorite so it’s a pleasure to give him the hat tip on the night he nailed five of seven triples finishing with 18 points, three rebounds, an assist, and a block.

C. New Orleans Pelicans. STEVEN ADAMS. A.

Although Ingram (24 points, 11 rebounds) and Zion Williamson (29 points) had bigger scoring efforts the hat tip was sewed up via a career effort from former OKC Thunder big man Steven Adams.

The Big Kiwi collected his first-ever triple-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists along with a steal for good measure.

It harkens back to the days here at T.I. were we frequently lamented on why Adams should be initiating more of the offense.

Kudos to fan-favorite Adams who we miss dearly – –  especially those killer sound bites. It’s not surprising he’s fitting in well with his new squad and we’re happy for his success!
