OKC Thunder: Player grades feature 2Q woes in loss to Spurs
Best OKC Thunder reserve performance:
Hamidou Diallo can fly.
Okay maybe not exactly, but sometimes you can’t help but think it. He recorded 16 points, four rebounds, and two assists on five of nine from the floor.
He may have not hit the 20 point mark as he had in his previous two games but he stayed aggressive and ready to pounce. Diallo continues to be a threat off the bench.
Best opponent performance:
More from Thunderous Intentions
- Stealing one player from every Southwest Division team for the OKC Thunder
- Should the OKC Thunder chase after a disgruntled hometown hero?
- 3 OKC Thunder players who can step up in Aleksej Pokusevski’s absence
- Aleksej Pokusevski sidelined approximately 6 weeks with ankle injury
- Damian Lillard does not fit with the OKC Thunder
The Spurs had some tremendous contributions from many players which made it a challenge to select their best performer of the game. But one person who stood out was Lonnie Walker who is on a phenomenal run.
In the Spurs’ previous game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, he scored a season-high 25 points. He backed that up against the Thunder by leading all scorers with 24 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a block.
At only 22 years of age, he is a great young talent with so much potential.
In closing:
The Thunder came into the game tied for 8th in the West and now hold 9th place. Coach Mark Daignault is still very proud of his team and their early efforts. After the game, he said, “if you zoom out and look at the first 10 games, it’s a pretty good foundation we can build on this season.”
OKC takes on Dennis Schroder and the Lakers tomorrow. This will give them the chance to turn things around and get their first win at home this season.
