OKC Thunder 3 takeaways from blowout loss against Lakers

Kenrich Williams will be the next Andre Roberson if this type of play continues

The biggest takeaway from the matchup, without any hesitation, is Kenrich Williams. “Kenny Hustle” should be a household name by now. The TCU product recorded nine points, four assists, five rebounds while adding a block and a steal as he went 4 of 5 from the field.
These numbers are awe-inspiring since he produced this stat line in just 14 minutes of action. It would be perplexing if Coach Daigneault did not increase his minutes after a game of this magnitude.
There were many instances where his defensive prowess put the defending champs on notice as he blocked LeBron on a drive to the basket in the first half. Blocking LBJ at full speed typically does not happen as he is a 250-pound freight train with no brakes, coming downhill at top speed.
The most impressive play was when Williams stole the ball from Alex Caruso as he started the offense. Check out this perfect defensive sequence:
If Kenrich can bring this intensity on the defensive end on a nightly basis, it will give OKC more opportunities on the fast break and provide a much-needed boost from the second unit.
He could undoubtedly become the next version of Andre Roberson if he continues this type of play.
There are no moral victories in basketball, but this young team never stops competing, and there are many silver lining’s in this defeat.
The OKC Thunder seeks to win its first home game of the season as they play host to the Chicago Bulls on Friday.
