James Harden was the first domino to fall in terms of NBA players traded, and Bleacher Report views OKC Thunder point guard George Hill as next in line.
Wednesday, NBA superstar James Harden was traded in a four-team deal (unfortunately, none of which were the OKC Thunder despite our hopes) that landed him in Brookly, thus having him join forces with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
Marking this as the first blockbuster move of the season, many fans and analysts alike are under the impression that more deals are on the horizon.
For Thunder fans, there is one player in particular that they anticipate will find himself on the trading block at some point this season.
That man: George Hill.
Still a serviceable veteran floor spacing/ defensive-oriented point guard, we here at TI believe there will be several teams that will look into acquiring the 34-year-old and, according to Bleacher Report, such a move could be coming soon.
According to Dan Favale, Hill has already managed to increase his value during the early stages of the 2020-21 season and, given his specific skill set, he should be seen as quite a hot commodity, especially amongst title contenders:
"At 34 and with a $1.3 million partial guarantee for next season, he always profiled as a goner. He has only increased his value by canning 38.5 percent of his threes and 63.9 percent of his twos (not a typo).Contenders in search of spacing, some secondary playmaking and stout backcourt defense should be foaming at the mouth to pry Hill from Oklahoma City. Bet on that assumed lust culminating in a trade prior to the March 25 deadline."
Listing the likes of the Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks, and Los Angeles Clippers as potential destinations, it’s apparent that Favale believes Hill could be one of the next NBA players to be dealt following the Harden blockbuster.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
