Roby shows out in Horford’s absence from OKC Thunder lineup

There is no doubt in anyone’s mind about the impact Al Horford has on this young Thunder team. His veteran leadership and basketball prowess puts the Thunder in a position to win any game when he’s on the floor.

Following the birth of his daughter, Horford has been away from the team. In his place, Isaiah Roby has started.

Roby still has a lot to learn but it’s pretty easy to see why he has a spot on this Thunder roster.

Roby was one of four Thunder players to hit the double-digit scoring mark in the Thunder’s loss to the Nuggets. He finished with 10 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and a team-leading four steals.

The hustle that Roby displays is second-to-none. The second-year player is always looking for another opportunity to help this team win, and we, as fans, get to watch Roby develop from a little-known player to a potential star.

So far this season, Roby is averaging nine points per game on 55 percent shooting while also putting in work on the glass with five rebounds per game.

With the rebuild in full swing, it’s hard not to be excited about the future of this Thunder roster when they have already exceeded expectations just 13 games into the season.

There’s a lot of basketball left to be played this season, but the future is bright with this squad.
