The OKC Thunder have surprised many throughout the first quarter of the 2020-21 campaign.

Though they may not still be finding themselves a few games over .500 like they were earlier in the year, as they now boast a 6-9 record, they are still well within reach of a top-8 spot in the Western Conference standings and have managed to stay competitive in seemingly every outing thus far.

A lot of credit can go around as to why the team has performed so well to start the campaign, such as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander‘s continued progressions and Luguentz Dort‘s stellar two-way play but, perhaps one of the most under the radar impacts has been the steady hand of veteran guard, George Hill.

Through 14 games played, the 34-year-old is posting averages of 11.8 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per game on 51 percent shooting from the floor and 39 percent shooting from deep.

Of OKC players who have logged more than 300 combined minutes thus far into the year, holds the highest offensive box plus-minus rating and the third-highest overall box plus-minus rating.

George Hill grows his value as ever OKC Thunder game goes by

Most recently, we saw Hill drop 22 points to go along with two assists and two steals on a whopping 75 percent from both the field and from downtown.

Since coming to the OKC Thunder via trade prior to the start of the season, it was widely believed that Sam Presti and co. would look to flip the guard in an effort to land themselves more valuable assets to aid in their rebuild.

Over the past few months, we’ve even begun to compile lists in regard to what landing spots may be the most ideal for the veteran.

With every passing day George Hill is in OKC, his trade stock is steadily rising.
