OKC Thunder: Player grades feature team effort in win versus Blazers
OKC Thunder starting lineup grades:
Ridiculous moves in the paint and effortless buckets is what SGA provided in this win.
In the third quarter, he made a shot that went so high before falling through the net, that it looked like it was from the heavens. Gliding in the lane, with defenders attempting to block him, he threw the ball up as a defender slightly tipped it. And it just touched the glass to go in. It was a beautiful move to watch and something only he could pull off.
He was phenomenal all around and finished with 24 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and going eight of 12 from the floor. SGA also added two massive blocks and a steal.
Lu Dort played a resilient game. Down the stretch, Lillard couldn’t get away from Dort who hassled him as he attempted an open three. He got called for the foul but after a review, it was overturned. It was an incredible play to watch and more proof that no matter what, Dort can lockdown any superstar on any team.
He finished the night with seven points, three rebounds, three assists, and a block.
In his first start, Maledon was poised and played really well. In his 22 minutes on the floor, he impressed with his maturity on defense to know when to switch and wasn’t afraid to put the ball up.
He finished with six points, four assists, four rebounds, and two 3-pointers made. I would love to see Maledon get more opportunities to start. He showed against Portland that he’s up for it.
Bazley was the Thunder’s first player in double-digits. From tip-ins to pressure on the boards, he was a dominant presence under the rim and had a much-improved performance from his previous two games. You can trust that Baze is gonna go out and be aggressive and it’s about being consistent which he is absolutely capable of. With more experience, he’s only going to get better.
He scored19 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and a trio of 3-pointers.
Roby had a solid game. When watching him play, you can’t help but notice his admirable focus and patience. He’s been commended by many including his teammates for his skillset and drive to get better. With every game, he is shining. He recorded 16 points, three rebounds, two blocks, an assist and went for 100 percent from the free-throw line.
