The OKC Thunder hosted the Houston Rockets and came out of the games slowly. They let the Rockets get a 24-6 lead in the first seven minutes before changing the offense going inside to Al Horford and Darius Bazley which opened up the 3-point line.
However, the Thunder ended the period down 24-48Â thanks to the Rockets going 11-of-14 from deep. The Thunder came back in the second period, holding the Rockets to 25 points while scoring 30 themselves, ending the period 54-73 down.
There was a scary moment for the Thunder when Shai Gilgeous-Alexander twisted his ankle with about four minutes to go in the period. After limping down the court for a couple of possessions he was able to play out the game
The OKC Thunder continued to struggle in the second half
However, the third period did not go much better for the Thunder. They did trim the lead but under 20 for a moment but the Rockets shooting was too good. They went on a big run to finish out the quarter, taking a 78-100 deficit into the last.
Both coaches emptied their benches for the fourth period meaning that we got to see some of the deep bench players. Both Moses Brown and Josh Hall had time on the bench before they head to the G-League bubble later this month.
