Best OKC Thunder reserve performance:
The bench had extended minutes tonight due to the nature of the blowout. Justin Jackson and Kenrich Williams both played really good games which should get them more court time in the future. However, the best OKC Thunder reserve player was Hamidou Diallo
Diallo is surely making a case for Sixth Man of the Year He has put up multiple double-digit scoring nights off the bench. He is such a bundle of energy. Diallo went 6-of-7 from the floor against the Rockets for 15 points.
He also had four assists, two rebounds, and one steal in a good all-round game. He did foul a 3-point shooter twice, giving the Rockets four-point plays both times.
Best opponent performance:
While this gong could have gone to multiple players including John Wall and Christian Wood, Eric Gordon was superb on the night.
He went 5-of-9 from deep and scored 25 points. The reason he gets the nod is that every time the Thunder tried to construct a run to get back into the game it was a Gordon dagger that seemed to snuff out the hope of the Thunder.
In closing:
The young Thunder franchise met a team that has had the best defensive record in the NBA since James Harden left.
They were also very much on form from behind the 3-point line and the young Thunder defense was almost powerless to stop them.
