OKC Thunder trade partner No. 2) Los Angeles Clippers

Perhaps the team most linked to the OKC Thunder thus far into the season has been the Los Angeles Clippers.

The championship aspiring team has a great collection of star power, with the likes of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George leading the way.

Their secondary contributors of Lou Williams, Serge Ibaka, Reggie Jackson, and Marcus Morris also have proven to be quality role players for LA.

Now, through 21 games, they boast a record of 16-5 and find themselves as the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference standings.

However, despite all this success, it would appear they could still stand to use for some extra help in the playmaking department to ease the load that George and Kawhi have been burdened with.

As we said, the Clippers have constantly been linked to the Thunder as a potential trade partner throughout this season, and the biggest reason is because of the potential of a perfect fit between them and OKC guard, George Hill.

With Los Angeles, Hill would play a role similar to one that he played to perfection with the Bucks during the 2019-20 season, where he was a secondary ball-handlers to Giannis Antetokounmpo.

He shot 46 percent from deep was in the 99th percentile for spot-up shooting.

Aside from his sound shooting stroke, the veteran proved to be more than capable as a ball-handler, as he averaged 3.1 assists in 21.5 minutes per game and found ways to be effective despite low usage percentage of 15.2.

After their postseason collapse last year, the Clippers seem to have a “championship or bust” mentality, especially considering that Leonard has a player option at the end of this season.

Because of this, they could cough up quite a quality package in return for the 34-year-old Hill.
