The OKC Thunder were everything they needed to be against the Rockets and more after putting up 104 points for a spectacular 17 point victory.

After two big losses, they definitely needed this one. The amazing thing about it, is that it was led by the team’s reserves also known as the “Breakfast Club.”

Five players scored in double-digits with everyone putting in a solid contribution defensively.

Three takeaways from the OKC Thunder’s win over the Rockets:

No. 1) Bet on yourself mentality shines through

Two undrafted players, a bunch of second-round picks, a young squad, and a whole lot of fight.

The OKC Thunder played with heart and tremendous effort despite being undermanned. They were without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who was being rested and Luguentz Dort for most of the game who left with knee soreness. Not to mention also missing George Hill.

With that, their best scorer and their best defender had to watch from the sidelines but they will be extremely proud of how the Thunder responded to this. Showing the faith that everyone has in themselves to get the job done even when they may be less experienced.

OKC provided a mighty challenge for the Rockets with their valiant attitude all game. When you’ve got a group of players who have been overlooked but given a chance, you get the OKC Thunder. That’s all they’ve known, to contest and compete until the very end. This was shown with Kenrich Williams starring in the win.

It was great to watch them play consistently throughout the match, not letting the Rockets get anywhere near a comeback.

That’s what you’re guaranteed watching the Thunder. A never say die mindset.
