The OKC Thunder only had eight players on the court Monday night during the club’s overtime loss against the Los Angeles Lakers, which meant big minutes for players that typically do not see extended playing time.

OKC looked fresh considering they recently played three games in four nights. The Thunder showed the ability to get to the paint as they put up 60 points on 72 shots. This is extremely impressive due to the size LA has to handle the paint.

OKC Thunder resiliency not enough as Lakers win in overtime

The way OKC played as a collective unit was impressive in this game. Whether it was Kenrich Williams or Luguentz Dort guarding LeBron James, OKC made a concerted effort to stay in front of James throughout the contest.

However, LeBron posted a triple-double and has yet to miss a game this season as he posted 28 points, 12 assists, and 14 rebounds in 42 minutes of play.

While OKC succeeded in guarding the perimeter they lacked the wherewithal to keep Los Angeles from getting to the free-throw line. OKC also struggled to keep the Lakers from getting out in transition as the Lakers won that battle 23-3 on the night.

Player grades serve up more insight and analysis in the loss.
