Recently, reports surfaced that the Detroit Pistons are holding out power forward Blake Griffin indefinitely until they can figure out a way for the two parties to move on. With this, the media has gone into a frenzy trying to figure out where his next landing spot could be and, according to the oddsmakers, the OKC Thunder could be a realistic destination.

OKC Thunder fans share their thoughts on trading for Blake Griffin
About a week ago, we discussed the possibility of the Thunder pursuing Griffin in a deal involving Sam Presti and co. taking on the Oklahoma native along with a future draft pick in exchange for lofty contracts and unused players.
In lieu of this news, we here at Thunderous Intentions took to Twitter to ask fans about what they’d be willing to offer in a hypothetical trade for the former All-Star, and, unsurprisingly, their reactions were all in the same ballpark:
Nothing of value. Gotta get something or someone of value along with him.

Horford for Griffin, a 2nd, and a pick swap.
— James (@JamedTwitered) February 18, 2021
If they will give me a pick, I’ll take whatever. I miss his OU days.

While some of the comments made by fans were sometimes a bit far fetched, while their proposed trades were just sometimes flat out unrealistic, ultimately all of their wants were the same — if OKC were to trade for Blake Griffin, the return package would also have to include more desirable assets such as a young prospect or future picks coming along with him.
Unless this is the case, we see no reason as to why the rebuilding Thunder would be involved in dealing for the veteran forward.
