OKC Thunder trade No. 2) George Hill heads to Beantown

Again, we see George Hill on the move in this B/R piece, only this time we see him shipping off the Boston to join the struggling Celtics.

Though coming into the season seen as a top-tier contender, through 32 games the shamrocks have struggled mightily, boasting a sub-.500 record of 15-17 and have now lost four of their last five outings.

It’s obvious the team needs to make some moves and, to many, Hill could be that subtle but impactful move this youthful roster could use.

Frankly, this is certainly not the first time we’ve seen the veteran guard linked to Boston, and B/R is usually the one pounding the proverbial drum to make this partnership happen.

In the past, the publication has even gone about stating that adding on Hill would be the “ideal move” for the Cs to make, citing his ample postseason experience and individual skillset as their main reasons as to why:

"The veteran guard has more than 100 career playoff appearances on his resume, plus a low-maintenance style built around spot-up sniping, secondary playmaking and rugged defense that fits into almost any five-player puzzle. He could land in Boston and immediately provide insurance behind Kemba Walker while scratching itches for additional scoring and spacing help."

In this proposed deal, we see the Thunder swapping out an older player for a couple of young talents in Carsen Edwards (22) and 2019 lottery pick Romeo Langford (21), both of whom have shown promise during their short stints in the league and, with the proper tutelage and development — something Oklahoma City has a reputation of being great at doing –, they could become quality role players in this league.

We also see the likes of Tristan Thompson coming with the two aforementioned youngsters largely in an effort to make the money work, but his veteran presence and championship experience could also serve as a nice addition to this incredibly young OKC roster.

All in all, for a guy viewed as expendable, this specific package is one we’re sure Thunder fans would be pleased to see.
