OKC Thunder starting lineup grades:

A. . G/F. Oklahoma City Thunder. SHAI GILGEOUS-ALEXANDER

Since the All-Star reserves were announced and Devin Booker as the injury replacement, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and his OKC are 2-0.

SGA followed up his career-high 42-point night with another quality effort in yet another efficient outing. He put up 24 points, five rebounds, four assists, and a steal.

He’s so smooth always playing within the confines of the game that his 24 points seemed quietly accumulated. Other than one standout at the end of the first quarter…

SGA was at the top of the key and made a move that schooled poor Skylar Mays. The Hawk guard got caught as Shai reversed direction backward as smoothly as he moves forward hitting a step-back 3-pointer. Mays almost fell then tried to adjust to get back and re-establish a connection on the Thunder star but the shot was already sailing through the net.

A. . PG. Oklahoma City Thunder. THEO MALEDON

Another big game from the rookie who just keeps impressing Intentions. We noted how much he impacted a five-minute segment of the Heat match via his game management and assists.

On Friday fans got that same effect throughout the entire game as Theo Maledon delivered a quality double-double of 13 points and 12 assists. In addition, he grabbed four rebounds, had a steal, hit two 3-pointers, and got to the line for three free throws.

The young guard does so many positive things that given his age it feels like the sky is the limit for this young man who clearly values team first.

If you’re looking for a direct comparison consider the fact Maledon scored four fewer points than Trae Young but did it in 10 fewer attempts.

The 12 dimes were the highlight along with his game management.

The future sure is bright in OKC!
