OKC Thunder: NBA Power Rankings -Griffin buyout shifts ladder at half way mark
Minnesota Timberwolves:
Week 11: 0-1
Lost to: Hornets 102-135
Week 12 opponents: @Pelicans, Blazers (x 2)
Offense: (105) 28th
Defense: (113.4) 25th
Net: (Minus -8.4) 30th
The only good thing that happened for the Wolves in the last week of the first half was having to play just a single game.
This season has not been kind to the Timberwolves both in terms of injuries plus COVID-19 and individually for players. Karl-Anthony Towns deserves something good to happen after a year plus of constant bad news.
Last season the thinking was the addition of D’Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley would allow the club to feast offensively and if they applied themselves on defense perhaps put them in the upper echelon conversation.
That presumption blew up early with Towns injury and then catching the virus. By the time he returned Russell was out and then Beasley got slapped with a 12-game suspension and Ryan Saunders was fired.
The highlight for the Wolves of the first half was delivered by rookie Anthony Edwards who has fit in well with the team and is progressing nicely (and making defenders think twice about trying to stand in and block his shot!).

New bench boss Chris Finch remains winless through five games but will finally get a chance to practice with his new club prior to resuming gameplay.
Heading into the second half the Wolves are in a precarious situation and are rumored to be looking to add talent (presumably defensive and wing assistance). It’s a catch 22 for the club who is positioned to yet again get the top draft pick but who also has a superstar talent that needs to be appeased.
