The OKC Thunder start out the second half of the season undefeated as they’re 1-0 on their final 36 game stretch of 2020-21.

Now, as the days begin to dwindle on we will find many more stages of this year’s campaign take place, with the first domino to fall being the March 25th trade deadline. With just under two weeks remaining between now and this anxiety-inducing date, front offices are gearing up for a busy blip in the schedule.

Though they’ve managed to impress through the first 37 games of action this year, the expectation of both fans and media alike is that the Thunder will be one of said front offices to be active, with a popular belief that they’ll look to ship off some of their veteran players in exchange for more desirable assets as they embark on a franchise rebuild.

George Hill and Al Horford are the first two seasoned commodities to be listed when it comes to the Thunder’s trade rumor mill and, recently, Bleacher Report went about describing the big man’s contract as ‘a bad one worth buying’ if you’re an NBA contender.

B/R believes OKC Thunder big man Al Horford is worth a look from contenders

"Horford is playing well enough this season for someone, somewhere, to step out on that limb. He’s averaging 14.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists while downing 35.6 percent of his threes amid career-high volume. His passing and IQ can boost almost any half-court offense, and he maintains some of his defensive switchability even though he’s lost a step or two."

Writer Dan Favale would go on to list the San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers, and Boston Celtics — the latter of which we’ve brought up as a viable landing spot for the veteran ourselves — as the ‘best potential destinations.’

In the coming days, we’ll be extrapolating on these newly listed landing spots by concocting deals in which Horford heads to both the Spurs and Portland.
