OKC Thunder: Player grades for surprising win over Rockets
By Ryan Lewis
Best OKC Thunder reserve performance:
Mykhailiuk was pretty stellar off the bench for the OKC Thunder. He scored 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting and did it all in less than 21 minutes. Mykhailiuk also got involved in the rebounding and passing game, picking up four rebounds and three assists.
His performance against the Hawks in which he scored no points and missed both shots he took in 16 minutes of action left something to be desired. It’s safe to say this game made up for that.
Best opponent performance:
Wood was everything the Rockets needed him to be, and if the other members on the roster had stepped up as much as he did, this losing streak might have come to an end.
Wood scored 27 points on 56.3 percent shooting while also pulling down eight rebounds, coming up with one steal, and shutting down a couple of shots with two blocks.
In closing:
If this game taught us anything, it’s that the Thunder are building a capable roster for the future.
Even without the essential starters like Gilgeous-Alexander, Horford, and Bazley, this young Thunder roster stood toe-to-toe with a more experienced foe and came out victorious.
The Thunder have been fun to watch all season long, and they continue to exceed expectations even though they have been doubted with each game.
