With roughly 48 hours to go till the March 25th trade deadline arrives, the NBA media world will be in a complete frenzy as they try to cover moves being made and predict future transactions. During this time period, the OKC Thunder are certainly a team to be monitored closely.

After making their first move a little over a week ago with the trade that sent Hamidou Diallo to the Detroit Pistons, Sam Presti and co. have gone on to follow up this ordeal with another deal, shipping off the forgotten commodity, Trevor Ariza, to South Beach to join the Miami Heat.

Now, as we’ve inched significantly closer to the league’s official trade deadline, a popular question asked pertaining to potential future steps from the front office is, if Oklahoma City was able to pull of these trades involving relatively low-level commodities (specifically Ariza), what might they be able to nab for some of their higher-profile assets and, with this, who might be interested?

Of course, these “higher-profile” trade assets are in reference to George Hill and Al Horford, the latter of whom was recently linked to the Boston Celtics as a ‘top landing spot’, according to Bleacher Report.

In this same piece, B/R writer Mandela Namaste went on to list several other players viewed as the ‘biggest trade deadline targets’ and, to no surprise, Hill was also found on this list and, according to the article, the top landing spot for the veteran point guard was the Los Angeles Clippers.

Clippers viewed as top landing spot for OKC Thunder point guard George Hill

Citing his ample experience in the league, both in the regular season and playoffs, and his sound demeanor, Namaste believes Hill would be an ideal trade option for this championship aspiring Clippers squad:

"George Hill has made the postseason 11 times and has played with big-time stars before (Tim Duncan, LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo, to name a few). He led the NBA in three-point shooting last year (46 percent), rarely turns the ball over and is a leader on and off the court. At times, the Clippers look like the best team in the league—in fact, they’ve won nine games by at least 20 points this year. But when they lose their momentum, it can get worrisome. Adding Hill would provide a stable ball-handling presence and steady personality to balance out this group."

For those of you familiar with our work at TI, you’re likely already aware that we, too, believe the ‘paperclips’ are a legitimate destination for the OKC Thunder point guard.

As a follow-up, look for an upcoming hypothetical trades piece from us involving Hill heading to La La Land.
