The Warriors are sitting pretty with the Wolves draft pick — that is unless Minnesota decides not to buyers (which they said they would be) and outright tanks. Even then they have to hope for the balls to bounce right .
Overall the Warriors aren’t likely to be super active unless they can find a trade partner and destination for Kelly Oubre jr.
He’ll become cost prohibitive given he’ll be a free agent and looking to get paid. With the Warriors not wanting to make a habit of paying luxury tax unless they are contending for a title it makes little sense.
Of course, they could do a sign and trade but Oubre has played better so they should strike while the iron is hot.
With Klay out for the season, the only other move the Dubs should want to make is if a tantalizing PROVEN young asset became available from a team who wanted that Minnesota draft pick and were also willing to take on Oubre’s contract.
