Brooklyn Nets: Buyers

Week 13: 3-1

Offense: (117.9) 1st
Defense: (113.2) 25th
Net: (Plus +4.6) 8th

The Brooklyn Nets got a jump on teams with the big trade of the season for James Harden and then via the addition of Blake Griffin.

Despite the treasure trove of talent accumulated by Sean Marks the Nets are still seeking to add depth and fulfill some roster gaps or specialty areas. While DeAndre Jordan shows glimpses of his former defensive abilities his age and regression are evident. To that end, defense is clearly the issue with the Nets ranking 25th.

A few big men have been rumored as targets of Brooklyn including Andre Drummond, LaMarcus Aldridge,  and OKC Thunder big man Al Horford. All three have hefty salaries which may push the Nets to the buyout market instead. Again, Drummond and Aldridge are in the mix as likely candidates.

The other rumor is the Nets are said to be interested in adding Raptors Norman Powell for the injured Spencer Dinwiddie but with multiple teams anxious to add the 3-point sharpshooter it’s more likely Masai Ujiri will have options to chose from.

In Closing:

Sam Presti and co will spend the day messaging and talking to front offices. A successful day would be moving George Hill, adding draft capital, and if an asset lands in OKC too then all the better.
