Former OKC Thunder exec, now Pistons GM Troy Weaver has been busy reshaping the team. Clearly, there are players he wanted on the squad who he had familiarity with and trusted. That led to the free-agent signing of Jerami Grant and trade for Hamidou Diallo.

But unless Weaver plans on creating a team made up of all former Thunder players his next moves will be telling in terms of his vision for the future of the franchise.

They’ll be sellers at the deadline with several vets in play. A scan of the past few games shows Rodney McGruder was inactive the last two games – typically a sign the team wants to ensure the player doesn’t get hurt.

Delon Wright would be a great pickup for a contender needing a playmaking point guard with defensive skills. Mason Plumlee is averaging a near double-double (10.2 points, 9.5 rebounds) so his stock is rising given the number of teams seeking help upfront.

However, Wayne Ellington may be the most coveted with his 3-point shooting ability (let’s ignore the obvious defensive shortcomings).
