OKC Thunder: Power Rankings all teams at the trade deadline
Washington Wizards: Buyers and Sellers
Week 13: 1-3
Offense: (109.4) 21st
Defense: (114.0) 27th
Net: (Minus -4.6) 24th
The Wizards are in a tenuous situation with a pricey backcourt of superstar talents. But Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook find themselves in the 13th seed in the East, and 3.5 games out of the play-in tournament.
Beal signed the max and elected to stay in Washington but did so with the expectations the team would be relevant, and in the playoffs.
While it might more sense to tank the Wizards can’t afford to keep Beal waiting or he could be the next superstar demanding a trade. Even if they do make the play-in tournament there’s no guarantee the previously patient and understanding Beal won’t have a change of heart.
Several players are open for trading bids, including Davis Bertans who the Wizards just signed last year to a five-year $80 million contract.
