Sacramento Kings: ??? — it’s the Kings

Week 13: 2-2

Offense: (113.4) 10th
Defense: (118.5) 30th
Net: (Minus -5.1) 25th

Depending on the day the rumors circling around the Kings vacillate between them being buyers and or sellers. Matt Moore notes:

"Some teams got the sense they want to clear salary. Others indicated they’re looking for upgrades in return for their assets. The ranking of available assets in terms of interest appears to be this: Barnes Richaun Holmes Nemanja Bjelica Buddy Hield (a distant fourth)"

If the rumors of Holmes being available are true there could be a number of teams who would be thrilled to nab the energetic power forward who could also fit into some small-ball lineups at center.

Barnes is the more compelling asset but also more costly although if the Kings can exercise patience his value and suitors will increase once Aaron Gordon is officially off the table.

It’s hard to feel too sorry for a franchise that has been to the lottery in 14 successive seasons but has only De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton to show for it. Adding salt to the wound, Marvin Bagley is out injured again and there are rumors the Kings want to move on from the youngster.
