OKC Thunder player No. 3) Moses Brown

Though it may be a bit of a shocker to see Horford being shut down for the season with 27 games still left on the schedule, when looking at how well Moses Brown has been playing in extended minutes on the floor, it’s somewhat easy to see why they chose now to be the time for this shutdown to transpire.

On the season, the second-year center is posting averages of 8.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game on 62 percent shooting from the floor. However, since nabbing his first start back on March 14th, Brown has seen such a role on a total of six occasions and, in turn, has produced admirably.

In said role, the big man is finding himself averaging a stellar 14.2 points, 15 boards, and 1.8 blocks per game on 63 percent shooting from the floor.

Due to his impressive play, the OKC Thunder wound up signing the 21-year-old to a multi-year contract this past Sunday, to which he responded by posting 21 points and 23 rebounds on a whopping 80 percent shooting from the floor against the Boston Celtics that same day.

Now, as OKC heads into the future with their youth movement, Brown looks to be their main center moving forward and having the voice of a guy like Horford in his ear, who for the majority of his career has served as his respective team’s franchise big, will be a great luxury to have.

Next. OKC may have found yet another hidden gem in Ty Jerome. dark
