Sacramento Kings (22-34):

For a 15th consecutive season, the Kings will return to the lottery and remain the most confusing team in the association. Primarily the Kings need an identity — if anyone knows what Sacramento’s is I’m all ears.

The backcourt is set with De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton but there is work to be done elsewhere.

Harrison Barnes, Richaun Holmes, and Buddy Hield are all quality players but something just doesn’t click. Twice this season the Kings have ripped off seven wins in eight games followed by a nine-game losing streak. The thing the Kings demonstrate the most consistency with is being inconsistent.

They’ll head back to the lottery and the Thunder need to be wary of them since they’re only 1.5 games back.

Of the teams mired in the tank wars, the Kings are the one club OKC still has three games left to play against.

They’ll play a single game this weekend featuring the Mavericks.
