OKC Thunder grades vs. 76ers: 14th loss ties franchise worst
OKC Thunder starting lineup grades:
Rookie Theo Maledon did some positive things in this match like shooting more efficiently. He was 4 of 8 from the field and connected on one of his two 3-pointers.
But, there were also negatives — Typically, Maledon is active under the rim often grabbing several rebounds but with the 76ers length was limited to a single rebound. His playmaking was also affected by the length of Ben Simmons and other 76ers as he dished only two dimes and had an uncharacteristically high five turnovers.
In fairness, playing without SGA or Dort isn’t ideal for the youngster but he’s learning and growing with the experience.
Let’s be fair — Kenrich Williams is one of the more positive developments and discoveries this season. While Dort is unquestionably the top defender, an argument could be made Williams is right behind him.
He delivers on so many fronts helping with playmaking, on the glass and generally is an efficient scorer although he seldom calls his own number.
In a perfect world, Williams would be the team’s sixth man providing the energy and calm for the reserve unit.
On this night he got the start and was exposed in a few areas but still managed to score eight points (on 4 of 5 shooting), grabbed four rebounds, and dished four dimes but like Maledon turned the ball over five times.
