Former OKC Thunder star No. 1) Kevin Durant

Speaking of star power…

After missing the entirety of the 2019-20 NBA season due to a torn Achilles from the postseason prior, former face of the franchise for the OKC Thunder, Kevin Durant, has come back to the hardwood as if he never missed time.

On the year, the former MVP finds himself boasting stellar per-game averages of 27.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game on 55 percent shooting from the floor and 47 percent shooting from deep.

Surrounded by fellow perennial All-Stars Kyrie Irving and James Harden, it appears as though the Brooklyn Nets are on a collision course towards the NBA Finals and, in reality, the only thing that seems to be standing in their way is themselves and, more specifically, the state of their health.

As stated, Durant missed all of last season as he recovered from his 2019 offseason surgery. Though he was indeed ready at the start of this current campaign and suited up in game one, the forward has only managed to play in 26 total games this year and missed nearly two months due to a nagging hamstring injury.

Recently, Harden has found himself sidelined due to a faulty hamstring himself, and reportedly still has ‘a ways to go’ till he can return.

All in all, the last three seasons in which KD actually played he helped guide his team to the NBA Finals, and won twice whilst attaining two Finals MVPs along the way.

Though the threat of injury is always real, assuming Brooklyn remains healthy throughout the postseason, they have the best chance of winning it all, thus giving Durant the best odds out of all former OKC Thunder stars to win a ring come the end of the season.
