Best OKC Thunder reserve performance:

ISAIAH ROBY. A. . F. Oklahoma City Thunder

Jerome made a case, but Roby was just better.

Roby shot a strong 71.4 percent in the game to finish with 15 points. He added seven rebounds and one assist. It’s not hard to believe that these types of performances could end up being the norm for Roby.

He’s strong, agile, and competitive. He displays it each night he touches the floor. Roby could be another star for the OKC Thunder if given the opportunity.

Best opponent performance:

. F. Boston Celtics. JAYLEN BROWN. A

Brown wins this honor by a mile.

Brown scored 39 points on 50 percent shooting and pulled down 11 rebounds. That alone gives him the edge over every other Celtics player on Tuesday. But Brown also added three assists and four steals to his totals making him not only Boston’s best player of the night but the best player on the court, period.

In closing:

More from Thunderous Intentions

The OKC Thunder needed this win. It doesn’t do anything for them other than improve team morale, which is important, even on a team committed to tanking.

It was a hard-fought victory with the OKC Thunder finding a way to hang on and secure the win despite things typically going south for them in each game in April.

The reserves played well, getting their opportunity to shine in a game that was essentially meaningful only for the Celtics. Of the Thunder’s 119 points, the bench scored 48 of those points, with only Svi Mykhailiuk hitting less than 50 percent of his shots.

Roby, Williams, Jerome, and Bradley hit a combined 62 percent of their shots.
