There are multiple former OKC Thunder players who find themselves playing key roles for postseason bound teams
This 2020-21 OKC Thunder squad is one that’s almost unrecognizable in comparison to even last year’s roster.
Of the 17 players found on this year’s payroll, only five of them were found on the team last season, and, of those five, none were under contract with the franchise in 2018-19.
This roster is an entirely new representation of Oklahoma City basketball, which is fitting as they begin to embark on a full-fledged rebuild.
Gone are the days of Russell Westbrook and championship aspirations. Instead, this team is looking towards a new era, and is going the tank route which, in turn, will have them missing out on postseason action for the first time in five years, and just the third time throughout their 13 year existence.
That said, even though we won’t be seeing the Thunder partake in the playoffs, their presence will undoubtedly be felt throughout the tournament thanks to the bevy of past players who now find themselves donning the threads of some of this year’s top teams.

However, while these talents are, in fact, leading the charge for their respective ball clubs, there are a plethora of other former players who are serving as key contributors for their current employers.
