OKC Thunder starting lineup grades:

Oklahoma City Thunder. THEO MALEDON. B+. . PG

Other than his 3-point shot being off Theo Maledon had a solid evening on the hardwood. The rookie was one of the better offensive performers with 15 points on an efficient 5 of 12 with the majority of his misses from the perimeter (1 of 6).  The point guard also was aggressive driving the paint to get to the line six times (hit four).

The other tangible effects of his quarterbacking were four rebounds, eight assists, and two steals with only a single turnover.

C-. . PG. Oklahoma City Thunder. LU DORT

Dort isn’t right — it was obvious last game and again tonight that his hip strain is still bothering him. The shot is off, he’s a step slow on defense and looks to be laboring. As noted below, it wasn’t all his fault with defensive breakdowns occurring when teammates (specifically Brown, Bazley, and Roby all fell short on their help defense — or covering their man which helped Curry get free).

As much as Dort is a TI favorite and no one wants 30 or 40 point blowouts to end the season it feels like it’s time to give that hip some rest. His mentality is so similar to Russell Westbrook in that he never takes off one play. Therefore, OKC should sit him (at least a few games) so he doesn’t end up injuring something else.

He shot a brutal 3 of 13 for seven points adding two rebounds, three assists, and a steal. His grade perhaps feels high but without him, Curry likely scores 50.
