Though he may not have proven to be as impactful as Kenrich Williams on a consistent basis, Isaiah Roby has shown flashes of being a quality rotation-big in this league.

With this, coupled with his ripe young age of 23-years-old we believe that he, too, falls into the category of “next best asset” after draft capital, Dort, Maledon, and co.

Before the Moses Brown show began in late March and before Roby sustained a toe injury that sidelined him for a few games, the second-year big man was proving to be yet another hidden gem of a role player for this tanking OKC Thunder squad in 2020-21.

On the season as a whole, the Nebraska product is posting solid per-game averages of 8.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists on 48 percent shooting from the floor and 30 percent shooting from deep.

Though just 6-8, Roby has proven capable of slotting in at either the power forward or center slots and, in turn, has managed to hold his own in the process on both ends of the floor due to his strength and improved defensive prowess — ranks second on the team in blocks behind Aleksej Pokusevski third in steals behind Theo Maledon and Kenrich Williams.

Self-described as being built perfectly for the modern-day NBA, with someone of his raw talent coupled with his minimal per-year salary at an average of $1.6 million annually, the idea of adding Isaiah Roby into a deal involving Horford could easily make it more enticing of an offer and may be necessary to get the veteran off the roster.
