Minnesota Timberwolves: (22-48) | Cleveland Cavaliers (22-48)

The big surprise of the week was the gift the Minnesota Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavaliers gave the Thunder. Minny won games on Sunday (Magic) and Tuesday (Magic) to push them to 22 victories.

Similarly, the Cavaliers shocked with their victory versus the Celtics. Cleveland was on an 11-game losing streak prior to their 102-94 victory over Boston on Wednesday.

The Wolves had already shown signs of not caring about their seeding even though they are risking losing their pick to the Warriors (their pick is top-three protected – which will be determined by how the balls bounce in the lottery).

The shocker is the Cavs who were in the coveted bottom three but by virtue of that win jumped ahead of the Thunder and Magic with an extra win.

Minnesota will play the Celtics and Mavericks this weekend, while the Cavs face the Wizards and Nets. Since it’s a fairly safe assumption the Thunder will do everything possible to lose both their remaining matches there isn’t much to watch here. They already gave the Thunder the best gift possible.
